On this self-drive journey across Sweden, begin your adventure in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, Immerse yourself in iconic landmarks such as the Royal Palace and the Vasa Museum. Following your exploration of Stockholm, drive through the scenic countryside of Southern Sweden to Jonkoping, a picturesque city nestled by Lake Vattern, known for its serene lakeside views and cultural heritage. From Jonkoping, continue to Gothenburg, where you can experience top attractions like Liseberg amusement park and the Maritiman museum, offering a rich maritime heritage. Next, drive from Gothenburg to Malmo. En route, consider visiting the elegant Gunnebo House and the historic city of Lund, known for its prestigious university and medieval charm. Once in Malmo, explore Malmohus Castle and enjoy the citys vibrant atmosphere. Later, head towards Kalmar, making stops in Kristianstad, founded in 1614 by King Christian IV of Denmark and Karlshamn, a town situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Upon your arrival in Kalmar, delve into the regions history and visit the renowned glass factories in the "Kingdom of Crystal," where you can observe traditional glassblowing and browse exquisite glassware. Then you will head back to Stockholm, you might want to enjoy a relaxing boat tour through the archipelago or a leisurely dinner at one of Stockholms renowned restaurants, soaking in the citys atmosphere one last time as you conclude your tour.

Day 1: Usa/ Canada - Stockholm
Today make your own way to your gateway airport for your overnight flight to Stockholm. Enjoy in-flight meals and services on your flight.
Day 2: Stockholm Arrival
Welcome to Stockholm! The capital of Sweden. Upon arrival pick up your car rental at the airport and drive to your hotel for check-in. Stockholm is known for its vibrant culture, stunning archipelago and historic landmarks. Remaining day is at leisure to explore the nearby attractions. You may visit the Royal Palace, the Parliament Buildings, the island of Djurgarden and the Old Town (Gamla Stan), with its narrow-cobbled streets and numerous antique shops or consider visiting the City Hall with its famous Blue and Golden Rooms, where the Nobel Prize Banquet is held each year.

Day 3: Stockholm – Jonkoping (B/-/-)
This morning after breakfast at the hotel. You will leave Stockholm through the pleasant countryside of Southern Sweden towards the city of Jönkoping, beautifully situated at the southern end of Lake Vattern. If time permits, we recommend a cruise on the lake.

Day 4: Jonkoping – Gothenburg (B/-/-)
Today after breakfast, start your day with a drive to Gothenburg, Sweden's second-largest city. Gothenburg offers a variety of attractions, including Liseberg, the largest amusement park in Scandinavia; a boat cruise to the 17th-century New Alvsborg Fortress and Maritiman, a floating maritime experience center featuring an armada of 19 museum vessels. At Maritiman, you can explore and learn about U-boats, destroyers, mine-layers and fireboats. Additionally, Universeum allows you to experience the Ocean, the Rain Forest and Space all in one day. The city also boasts museums, cafes and shopping opportunities.

Day 5: Gothernburg – Malmo (B/-/-)
In the morning after breakfast, as you leave Gothenburg, we recommend visiting the Gunnebo House, one of Swedens most beautiful neoclassical estates situated between two lakes, Radasjon and Stensjon, in the Municipal of Molndal, just south of Gothenburg. Continue south along the West Swedish coastline. If time permits, detour to the ancient university city of Lund, about 1000 years old and one of the oldest cities in Sweden. The University was founded in 1658 and has become a leading university in Sweden and Scandinavia. Also, it is possible to cross the bridge to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, located just on the other side of the narrow Øresund Belt. In the afternoon you will arrive in Malmo, a charming city where we recommend a visit to Malmohus Castle which has been housing museum collections since 1926. In 1434 King Erik VII of Denmark had the castle of Myntergaarden built where the Malmohus Castle stands today. Also, remember to just enjoy the atmosphere of this historic city.

Day 6: Malmo – Kalmar (B/-/-)
After breakfast, continue by road to Kristianstad, a former fortress town founded by Danish King Christian IV in 1614. Drive along the coast to Karlshamn, known for its well-preserved historical buildings. Karlshamn played a significant role in Swedish emigration to America, as many people departed from here. By the harbor, you can see a replica of Axel Olsson's statue depicting Karl-Oskar and Kristina, the central characters of Vilhelm Moberg's famous novels, gazing out over the sea before embarking on their adventure. Just west of Vaxjo, you will reach the \"Kingdom of Crystal,\" where you can visit one or two of the renowned glass factories. Experience the art of glassblowing and search for bargains in the glass shops. Continue to Kalmar, famous for its castle, which long served as the guardian of Sweden's southern frontier.

This morning after breakfast, you will have the opportunity to explore Kalmar, once one of the most important towns in the North. We recommend spending some time here before continuing back to Stockholm. The city's historical past is deeply ingrained in its character. Kalmar Castle, the Old Town and Kvarnholmen reflect the stories of mighty kings and queens as well as commoners. Traces of the past are evident in the architecture, cultural artifacts, art and the well-worn cobblestones that pave the streets. Drive along the eastern coastline, passing through Vastervik, Norrkoping and Sodertalje as you arrive in Stockholm by late afternoon.

What happens if I need to change my holiday date once I’ve booked?
Changes to an existing reservation up to the Final Payment Date, whatever the cause, will incur a $100 per person amendment fee, potential loss of any supplier fees (such as non-refundable event tickets, park permits, and sea cruise reservations) plus any costs for replacement services. On/ after the Final Payment Date, the $100 change fee is no longer valid, instead cancellations terms apply.
