[{"title":"Day 1: Cairo","name":"Cairo","description":"Welcome to Egypt and the start of your city stay! Arrival Cairo and included transfer to your 5 star hotel. The remainder of today is at your leisure to relax or explore Cairo your way. Consider sailing on a traditional felucca on the Nile at sunset, or the sound and light show this evening.","lat":"30.04442","lng":"31.235712"},{"title":"Day 2: Pyramids of Giza","name":"Giza","description":"Enjoy a guided tour of the famous pyramids and iconic Sphinx at Giza Plateau this morning. Sole survivors from the ancient Greek-listed Seven Wonders of the World, the pyramids are the planet’s oldest tourist attraction! Gaze in awe at Cheops (Khufu) - the largest of the three great pyramids. Constructed from over 2.5 million limestone blocks it is thought to have taken more than 20 years to construct. Whilst here, you can opt to enter the inside one of the pyramids, subject to opening. Not built for the purpose of accommodating curious travellers, a visit inside one of the pyramids is hot, humid and not recommended for those that are claustrophobic – but you do feel a bit like Indiana Jones! For a real Arabian experience, perhaps opt to hire a camel for a trot across the sands of Giza.

Later, head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, which remains home to a vast collection of statues, jewellery, and sarcophagi. Here, we’ll see the well-preserved mummies of Yuya and Thuyu, high-ranking nobles and the great-grandparents of King Tutankhamun. Some mummies are so well preserved they still have thick locks of hair and visible fingernails.

Returning to your hotel, spend the evening at leisure. We recommend going for dinner at one of the restaurants that offer fantastic views of the city and the Nile. Speak with your guide for their personal recommendations.

","lat":"30.013056","lng":"31.208853"},{"title":"Day 3: Cairo","name":"Cairo","description":"A free day to enjoy Cairo your own way. Consider relaxing by the hotel swimming pool, snapping up a few bargains at the famous Khan el Khalili bazaar or exploring more of Cairo on our optional Cairo City tour. You could also visit the tomb-strewn Saqqara, home to Zhoser’s Step Pyramid. Zhoser’s Step Pyramid was constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh’s chief architect in 2700 BC, and was the template for all future pyramid construction, including the Great Pyramids of Giza. If you already have something in mind that you would like to pre book, let your consultant know so we can arrange this in advance for you.
